Terms and Conditions
When booking a recording session at Smalltown America Studio you are entering into a contract by which you are agreeing unconditionally on behalf of the band/artist to abide by the studios terms and conditions as detailed below.
Booking A Recording Session:
Session bookings, times and dates are subject to availability and approval from a member of the Smalltown America Studio team. Smalltown America Studio reserve the right to refuse and reschedule. Bookings can be made by the following methods only and are not valid or confirmed until a 30% deposit paid.
A Deposit of 30% must be paid before booking can be confirmed. These deposits are non refundable or transferable. The remainder of the studio bill should be paid in full on the final day of your session. Failure to produce full payment will result in the studio withholding all copies of recordings, masters or session files until all fees have been paid and funds have cleared. If the recording session is broken up over a period of time, payment may be required either in advance or in installments to cover time that has been used. Smalltown America Studio reserves the right to implement these payment terms where applicable.
All session files are deleted from Smalltown America Studio hard drives 6 months after project completion unless otherwise specified. Please bring a backup storage device if you require your multi-tracks, any time needed for transfer of your files will be taken from your session time.
If the artist is late to arrive to the booked session time that lost time will be removed from the artist’s booked time slot.
Breakages And Damages To Studio Equipment:
Any damage caused to studio equipment due to misuse and abuse will be charged to the band/individual. Refusal to pay for breakages will lead to exclusion and prosecution.
Personal Items/Lost Property:
Please make sure that you do not leave personal items unattended and ensure that you take all of your belongings with you when you leave. Smalltown America Studio is not responsible for any items that are lost or damaged on the premises.
Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere inside the recording studio. If you leave the premises to smoke, please ensure that you are a safe distance from the studio and that your cigarette stubs are disposed of appropriately in the bin provided. When leaving and entering the Studio, please remember that the main door must be kept shut at all times. Any theft or damages that occur as a result of the door being left open will be chargeable to the band/artist. Please note that this includes all e-cigarettes/vape pens etc.
The studio operates a zero tolerance policy on drugs. If you are suspected of or found to be in possession of drugs on the premises, you will be asked to leave and reported to the police.
You are permitted to bring your own food and drink into the studio; however, this must not be placed on any of the equipment under any circumstances. Any damage caused to studio equipment due to spillages and negligence with food and drink will be charged as per our damages policy above. Artists are welcome to use kitchen facilities (kettle/microwave/toaster/fridge) and eating room to prepare and eat food.
What To Bring:
If you are bringing a drummer to the session they must provide their own drumsticks/cymbals/kick pedal & snare drum, Musicians are more than welcome to use any of our equipment free of charge but please bring any equipment that you use on a regular basis.
Our Piano is tuned on a ¼ year basis but if the artist would like it to be tuned for your session the cost (£60) will be incurred by the artist.
